2019 Infiniti QX50 earns 5-star overall safety rating from NHTSA

FindItMore | The all-new QX50 midsize luxury sport utility vehicle manufactured by Infiniti just earned a five-star overall vehicle safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s New Car Assessment Program. The front-wheel-drive and Intelligent All-Wheel drive versions of the Infiniti QX50 were recognized by the NHTSA.

Our local Infiniti dealer, Warren Henry Infiniti (Miami), stresses that safety is of the highest importance to Infiniti which is why the 2019 QX50 now comes with a comprehensive suite of driver assistance features. These features include ProPILOT Assist which uses Lane Keep Assist and Advanced Intelligent Cruise Control. Lane Keep Assist helps keep the QX50 in the center of the lane and prevents the vehicle from drifting outside of its lane. The Advanced Intelligent Cruise Control system is truly exceptional when driving on the highway through heavy traffic. The system monitors the vehicle’s around the QX50 and can automatically adjust the speed of the vehicle as traffic speeds change.

The driver assistance features of the QX50 don’t just stop there though, they continue on to give you even more confidence behind the wheel. Distance Control Assist monitors the distance of the vehicle in front of you and can slow down the QX50 when you get closer than the preset distance set to the vehicle in front of you. This ensures you’ll never tailgate the person in front of you which reduces the risk of invoking road rage and gives you a better chance of stopping in time if the vehicle in front of you were to slam on their brakes. So you can pay attention to the road ahead of the Lane Departure Warning and Prevention system provides warnings if you started to veer out of your lane. The system is also capable of intervention if no action is taken to keep you safe in your lane.

Have you ever been driving through a dense parking lot when out of nowhere someone dashes in front of your car? If so you’re not alone which is why Infiniti designed the new QX50 with a Forward Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection system. The system looks for potential frontal collisions with pedestrians and vehicles ahead of you. If no action is taken after being alerted to the potential impact the system is capable of braking to avoid impact.

The QX50 continues on beyond safety to offer drivers a luxurious interior, a wide array of high-tech features, as well as attractive exterior styling. The Infiniti QX50 Pure starts things off for the model lineup with a dual-screen infortain system, four USB ports, Bluetooth, a six-speaker sound system, a hands-free liftgate, dual-zone automatic climate control, reclining rear seats, and simulated leather upholstery. The mid-tier Luxe edition adds roof rails, LED fog lights, a panoramic sunroof, blind-spot monitoring, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror. Sitting at the top of the model lineup is the QX50 Essential with heated outside mirrors, remote engine start, automatic wipers, front and rear parking sensors, a surround-view camera system with object detection, navigation, and leather upholstery.

The Essential model unlocks several optional packages for the QX50 so you can get a vehicle perfectly tailored to you. The Premium Heat package adds heated front seats and a heated steering wheel. While the Sensory package includes everything listed above plus ventilated front seats, premium leather upholstery, an upgraded climate control system, rear-window sunshades, adaptive front headlights, and extended interior ambient lighting.
