RAM Truck Changes for 2020

FindItMore | After much anticipation, RAM has unveiled the RAM Truck Changes to its 2020 model year lineup, and it looks like everything is starting to go dark. Throughout the RAM lineup, you will find Night Editions with blacked-out trims and wheels, while the RAM 1500 includes a Rebel Black Edition that provides you with even more black items. You can also get dark wheels for the RAM 2500 Power Wagon. The slick and powerful look is still a staple at RAM, so let’s continue to dive into what the outlook for the brand is in 2020.

RAM 1500

The most significant update to the RAM 1500 is in the engine department due to the arrival of the EcoDiesel V6 throughout the lineup. The new engine is available on any trim level, including the off-road capable Rebel, something that was not available in 2019. With this new EcoDieselcomes 260 horsepower and an impressive 480 lb-ft of torque through a V6 engine. Fuel economy is improved as the EcoDiesel gets between 24-26 mpg when you combine city and highway driving. The engine also has a stout maximum towing ability of 12,560 pounds. All of these numbers easily defeat the Chevrolet Silverado’s Diesel Engine numbers.

Inside the cabin, Ferman Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram explained to us that the Night Edition is back for the Big Horn and Laramie trims. The simplified package comes with a black grille, badging, wheel, and exhaust tips. You also get headlights and taillights with darker bezels instead of the chrome. All versions of the RAM 1500 also come with new eTorque badging for the Hemi V8 as well as some new color options.

The Rebel also gets some much-needed love as well. Included is a Ram Rebel Black Appearance Group that gives you a slick-dark look. Also, the Black Appearance Group brings Diamond Black Crystal Pearl coat paint, black 18-inch wheels, front spoiler, skid plate, badging, tow hooks, and exhaust. There are also black bezels on the LED headlights and an all-black interior. If you want to add a dash of color, you can have a Black and Ruby Red interior if you choose. If you don’t want the Black Appearance package, the Rebel also offers a Comfort Package is standard, and it comes with a power tailgate release, wireless phone charging, rear heated seats, and a twelve-way power driver seat with memory setting. All-new is an optional Rebel Safety Group that has adaptive cruise control with stop and go, forward collision mitigation, lane departure warning, and automatic high beams.

RAM 2500/3500

While there may be fewer new features for the RAM 2500 and 3500, that doesn’t mean they are any less impressive. Lane keeps assist, and adaptive steering is now available on every trim level, as is a tire pressure monitoring and blind-spot monitoring. The auxiliary camera system from previous years gets an update as it supports two different cameras now, and you get a 50-gallon fuel tank on crew cab models. Shiny new black wheels are available on the 2500 Power Wagon off-road model, and a sharp-looking Hydro Blue or Olive Green exterior color is available on every trim level.

All of these packages and new features look to add to RAM’s dominance for years to come. As not only is RAM still the most powerful and capable truck on the market, it’s also one of the sharpest looking. Who knows what’s in store for RAM in the future, but we are excited to find out RAM Truck Changes!
